New boiler installation
Old boiler on its last legs, or already gone? Send us a few photos of what you have now, tell us about your home, and we'll put a written price in front of you. For most swaps the photos tell us everything we need, so there is no visit before you have seen a price, and no number that changes on the day.
Straight answers
The things people ask first
- Do I need a survey first?
- Usually not. For a straight swap we can normally tell from photos of your current boiler, the flue outside and the space around it. If yours turns out to be one of the jobs that genuinely needs eyes on it, we say so before you pay anything.
- Which boilers do you fit?
- Vokera, Ideal, Worcester Bosch and Alpha, sized to your house rather than to whatever is on the van that week.
- How long is the warranty?
- Cozy Home guarantees our workmanship for 12 months. The warranty on the boiler itself is the manufacturer's and varies by make and model, so always ask: we will tell you the exact term before you sign, register it in your name, and remind you it needs servicing every year to stay valid.
- Is there a grant for a new boiler?
- No. Government grants cover heat pumps and biomass, not gas boilers.
- Where do you work?
- Yorkshire, Humberside and north Nottinghamshire, out of a base near Doncaster.

What we fit
The kit that goes on the van
We are not tied to one manufacturer, so the honest answer to which one you should have is: whichever one suits your house. Here is what we fit most, what each is genuinely good at, and the thing about each one that the brochure puts on the last page.

Ideal
Logic Max Combi
Built forty miles up the road, and the one we fit most.
- Made in Hull
- 10 years parts and labour
- Made in Hull. When a part is needed it comes from Yorkshire rather than a warehouse in Europe, and that is the difference between a cold night and a cold week.
- The system filter comes in the box. Most makes charge extra for one, and most warranties quietly require one fitted.
- Ideal build it to fit a kitchen cupboard. We still measure yours before we promise it, because cupboards are not standard and disappointment is.
Worth knowingThe ten years only holds if it is serviced every twelve months. That is the main thing to know about this boiler, so we would rather say it now than leave it in the paperwork.
Registered within 30 days and serviced annually. We do the registering.

Worcester Bosch
Greenstar 4000
The name most people ask for by name, and a quiet one to live with.
- Up to 10 years guarantee
- Two sizes, 25kW and 30kW, giving 10.2 or 12.3 litres a minute of hot water. We size it to your house and your shower, not to what is on the van.
- Worcester build it to cope with low mains pressure, which matters on the older streets round here where the water arrives in no particular hurry.
- At 310mm deep it sits inside a standard kitchen cupboard with the door on. We still measure yours first.
Worth knowingThe ten years needs a Greenstar filter fitted with it and a service every year. Miss a service and Worcester can cut the guarantee short, so the annual visit is part of owning this boiler rather than an optional extra.
Fitted by us as a Worcester Accredited Installer with a Greenstar filter, registered within 30 days and serviced annually. We do the registering.
Why now
Boilers don’t fail in June
They go on the first properly cold morning, which is the same morning every heating engineer in the county has a full diary and a queue of people with no hot water.
If yours is getting on and you already nurse it through each winter, replacing it in September costs the same as replacing it in January. The difference is that in September you pick the date, you are not washing up with a kettle while you wait, and nobody is choosing your boiler for you because it is the only one in stock.
You don’t have to phone. Send the form and we come back to you.
Questions
The things people actually ask
Do you need to visit before quoting?
For a straight swap in the same position, usually not. Your answers tell us enough. If your job genuinely needs a look first, we say so before you commit to anything, not after.
Who actually does the work?
Gas Safe registered engineers. Registration details are confirmed on your paperwork before any work starts, and you can check them yourself on the Gas Safe Register.
What if you find something unexpected?
We stop and talk to you. Nothing extra is charged without you agreeing to it first, and if the change is big enough that you want to walk away, you can.
How long does a boiler swap take?
A like-for-like combi swap is usually one day. Moving position, converting from a conventional system to a combi, or removing a back boiler takes longer, usually two days.
Do you take the old boiler away?
Yes, and the packaging. Removal and disposal are in the price.
Will you register the warranty?
Yes, in your name, and we notify building control. You get the paperwork before we leave.
Advice
Worth reading first
What a new boiler costs
It's the most-searched question in this trade and the one most companies answer worst. Here's what moves the number, so you can read any quote you're given, ours included, and know whether it's fair.
Read itCombi, system or conventional?
Three types, one decision, and a lot of confident advice pulling in both directions. The right answer comes down to how many people want hot water at once, and what your incoming mains is like.
Read itWhat size boiler do you need?
Boiler output is quoted in kilowatts and the instinct is that more must be safer. It isn't. An oversized boiler cycles on and off, wears itself out, and costs more to run.
